Let's Play is a community partnership led by Dr Pepper Snapple Group to get kids and families active nationwide.
By 2017, DPS will have invested $28 million in Let’s Play, impacting millions of youth-serving organizations across the U.S., as well as Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.
Let’s Play is driven by DPS partnerships with two organizations – KaBOOM! and Good Sports.
KaBOOM! is the national non-profit dedicated to ensuring that all children get the balance of active play they need to become healthy and successful adults. DPS launched Let’s Play in 2011 with a $15 million three-year partnership with KaBOOM! to build or improve 2,000 playgrounds. In 2014, DPS extended its partnership with KaBOOM! through 2016 with an additional $10 million commitment to continue providing kids with great places to play.
Good Sports helps lay the foundation for healthy, active lifestyles by providing athletic equipment, footwear, and apparel to disadvantaged young people nationwide. In 2014, DPS committed $1 million to Good Sports these items to child-serving community organizations nationwide, benefiting 1.6 million youth.
DPS is focused on helping consumers make informed choices to balance calories in and calories out. We have set a goal that at least 50 percent of products in our innovation project development pipeline will be health and wellness focused by 2015. Let's Play also complements First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move initiative to combat childhood obesity by encouraging kids to get active outside.
KaBOOM! is a national non-profit organization dedicated to saving play. With its innovative community-build model, KaBOOM! is focused ongiving every child in America a great place to play within walking distance. In 2011, Dr Pepper Snapple launched Let's Play with a $15 million commitment to KaBOOM! to build or improve 2,000 playgrounds. In 2014, Dr Pepper Snapple and KaBOOM! extended their partnership through the end of this year with an additional $10 million commitment from DPS to continue providing kids with the active play they need.
